NFL bettors go on a diet this week, with the league schedule-makers opting to give four teams a bye week at once. Of the remaining 13 games, just three are intradvisional games while three will likely kick off with point spreads in the area of two touchdowns. In short, this may be a bit of a challenge, but NFL betting were too easy, it wouldn’t be as fun…

• Green Bay Packers -3½ at Detroit Lions, over/under 50
• Las Vegas Raiders -1½ at Jacksonville Jaguars, over/under 48
• Los Angeles Chargers -3 at Atlanta Falcons, over/under 49
• Buffalo Bills -13 at New York Jets, over/under 47
• Minnesota Vikings -3½ at Washington Commanders, over/under 43½
• Seattle Seahawks +2 at Arizona Cardinals, over/under 50½
• Los Angeles Rams +3 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, over/under 42½

• You’d figure the oddsmakers would have sussed out the reality from the metrics at this point, but at least two teams continue to evade rationality: The Jaguars are favored for the fourth time in 2022 despite going 2-6 SU/ATS thus far, while the 5-3 SU/ATS Seahawks are underdogs for the sixth time and are 4-1 SU/ATS in the last five games.
• Three teams are favored by 13 or more points and the Chiefs, as the sole homer of the three, feel like the best bet – this despite playing a division-leader…
• And from the How The Mighty Have Fallen Department, the Packers follow up their game as 10-point underdogs as a field goal-sized favorite against the Lions, who in 2022 have become virtually the posterchild for Hard Knocks charity cases.
