NFL betting – Point spreads, over/unders for week 4 – odds, lines, payouts
By week 4, the NFL betting expertise should really be kicking in for seasoned bettors: Outliers become obvious, trends are established, and the oddsmakers may still be having difficulty gauging one or two teams. This is the week when the teams getting by on smoke-and-mirrors can’t conceal their flaws so easily – much to the potential profit of the sharps.
So let’s get to betting already! The following are the lines, point spreads and over/unders for the sixteen week 4 NFL games.
Miami Dolphins +4 at Cincinnati Bengals, over/under 47 points
Minnesota Vikings -3 vs New Orleans Saints (in UK), O/U 43½
Buffalo Bills -3 at Baltimore Ravens, O/U 52
Chicago Bears +3 at New York Giants, O/U 39½
Cleveland Browns -1½ at Atlanta Falcons, OU 50
Jacksonville Jaguars +6½ at Philadelphia Eagles, O/U 47
Los Angeles Chargers -5 at Houston Texans, OU 44
New York Jets +3 at Pittsburgh Steelers, O/U 41½
Seattle Seahawks +4½ at Detroit Lions, O/U 48
Tennessee Titans +3 at Indianapolis Colts, O/U 42½
Washington Commanders +3 at Dallas Cowboys, O/U 41½
Arizona Cardinals +1½ at Carolina Panthers, O/U 42½
Denver Broncos +2½ at Las Vegas Raiders, O/U 45½
New England Patriots +9½ at Green Bay Packers, O/U 40½
Kansas City Chiefs -1 at Tampa Bay Buccaneeers, O/U 45
Los Angeles Rams +1½ at San Francisco 49ers, O/U 42
Hot(tish) takes:
NFLbets was blindly looking forward to the next Atlanta Falcons game to put their 3-0 ATS mark to the test and sure enough, the oddsmakers gave us a goodie, with Cleveland *getting* 1½ points. If this doesn’t get to “PK” by kickoff, we’d be shocked.
No relief in sight for an easy play on the Detroit Lions’ spread, either. After starting out as big underdogs in their first three games, only to go 1-2 SU/3-0 ATS, this week Detroit *gets* 4½ at home against Seattle. At least the under is finally a safe bet, with the no-score Seahawks offense coming to the town, though we may have to fear the Lions putting up 48 all by themselves…
Beware that Monday Night Football line. Extra day or no, Trent Williams still won’t be at LT for the 49ers while Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey looked as dominant as ever last week. And the Los Angeles Rams are getting only 1½ points? A Garoppolo-induced safety could be the difference! A verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry suspicious line here.
