“Pick Five” NFL Betting Contest, week 6 – Hot teams will lose (also the Broncos again)
Typically, filling out NFLbets’ Pick Five NFL Betting Contest entry eats up time and energy, as the lines get mulled and re-mulled and re-remulled over. But this week, zip zip zip and we were done. Which is troublesome on one level, i.e. we’re really going to go with gut feelings on this stuff first? On the other hand, anything will beat another 2-3 ticket this week.
On the week 6 “Pick Five” NFL betting contest card, NFLbets has:
New York Jets +7 at Green Bay Packers. The first two teams to return from London without getting a bye week directly thereafter – the Vikings and Saints – went 2-0 SU and 1-1 ATS last week. (Though to be fair, New Orleans snuck by Seattle by 2 points ATS.) NFLbets is figuring that the jump back across the pond can only discombobulate the already discombobulated-looking Packers that much further.
San Francisco 49ers -5½ at Atlanta Falcons. For the second week, the Falcons remain the sole undefeated ATS team in the league; and whereas last week, the Falcons were getting way too much (+11 at the Buccaneers, who hasn’t beaten anyone by more than 10 since week 1), the handicap is much more reasonable for the 49ers this week.
Kansas City Chiefs +2½ vs Buffalo Bills. NFLbets is not really sure why the Chiefs, who are 3-1 SU/ATS against the Bills since Patrick Mahomes became the starting QB, who beat the Bills the last time they played, who brings in a 4-1 record (identical to the Bills’) into this game and who are playing at home is the underdog here, but if the game is giving 2½ points to possibly the best team in the NFL, we’re taking it.
Dallas Cowboys +6 at Philadelphia Eagles. We’re admittedly playing with fire here, but if the NFC East is really harkening back to the glory days of competitiveness and smashmouth Sundays, then you have to believe the Cowboys’ll keep this to within a touchdown.
Los Angeles Chargers -5 vs Denver Broncos. SoFi Stadium on Monday night will likely be packed with Broncos fans. So? They’ll just be booing anyway…
